A shaky start for Air America in LA market

To the Program Director and to whom it may concern:

I looked forward to the kick off of the Air America Radio. (KBLA, 1580 AM)

Al Franken was everything I hoped in a fun, smart, thought-provoking program.

Unfortunately, I was truly embarrassed after introducing the station to my mother when Randi Rhodes completely disrespect Ralph Nader with her lack of professional broadcasting skills.

Agree or disagree with Mr. Nader'’s point-of-view, the actions of Randi Rhodes was so deplorable that I have never seen such lack of respect from any right-wing host towards Mr. Nader like Rhodes treated him today. Her antics would have made a WWF wrestler proud. If this is the type of chaotic, cacophonous, circus she wanted to create; she succeed and I turned the radio dial back to Pacifica 90.7 FM.

The noise that came out the radio for the next five minutes was some of the worst broadcasting in the history of radio. Her constant talking over Mr. Nader, without ever letting him speak, sounded like child bickering on a school playground. Nothing could be understood from her and she sounded like a lunatic. Her remarks like "This is not an interview" and "I'm pissed off" clearly demonstrated a lack of intellect and instead she optioned out for shock value at full throttle. Rhodes botched her initial impression, bigtime.

She should apologize to Mr. Nader and your new listening public for her disrespectful, unprofessional, coarse, and infantile behavior.

If this is the way she is going to conduct herself, she is a zero. (and I have no desire to tune in.)
